Doesn't seem to be any word from Valve yet, but it's not a bad idea to keep an eye on your steam/bank accounts anyway.

Yeah I'm slightly worried about this, hopefully Valve gets Law enforcement on the job.

Personally I would beat the living shit out of this guy if I ever got to see him in person.

Seems that it's a 3rd party company that valve uses for their cyber cafe stuff.

FTFA: 'Doug Lombardi, director of marketing at Valve, says, "There has been no security breach of Steam." However, he does confirm our expert's findings by adding, "The alleged hacker gained access to a third-party site that Valve uses to manage the commercial partners in its Cyber Café program. This Cyber Café billing system is not connected to Steam. We are working with law enforcement agencies on this matter, and encourage anyone with more information to e-mail us at Catch_A_Thief@valvesoftware.com."'

So only Cyber cafe's are effected, that's a relief to an extent.

I still worry though, even if there are no cyber cafe's I know that use steam.

As stupid as the person may be, I have to give him props.. I mean he was no little "Script Kiddie" (like using premade hacks) He actually hacked into the database.. If anything Steam should be getting yelled at for the lack of security. I am not effected by this because I used a prepaid visa card to get my purchases off of steam.

But then again using an account at a computer you don't know about is pretty stupid.

Ie. Don't be dumb and use your stream/WoW/Or any other account at places or locations you don't know about.

They'll just track you pass then BOOYAH. :O

You're right, I just read this from the steam site

Deny requests for login and password information from other users. Do not share your account login information with anyone. No reputable gaming clan will ask for your login information to join. Game server administrators do not need your Steam account information

yeah some guy claiming to be w/ steam powered tried gettin my info claiming i was using was a hacked account. i anwsered him saying if it turns off ill buy another. his response to this was "have a nice easter".{it was on easter}

this is my fault though, someone i didnt know joined me as a friend and i allowed figuring it was a person i knew. then he changed his name to admin @steampowered and started his bullshit. dont except people as friends unless u know and trust them.
