Mid Atlantic Air Museum's World War II Weekend 2004

The mighty B-29, one of two aircraft at the show this year that I had never seen fly before.

An F4U Corsair

And here's the other, a P-38 Lightning. Not many of these left (true of a lot of warbirds unfortunately).

These next two pictures are of probably the most awesome formation flying I've ever seen. The smaller plane on the left is a P-51 Mustang, the one on the right is a Republic A-10 Warthog. These two flew around like this for maybe five minutes. Of course I was up to my neck in traffic and only had time to get a few pictures. These are the best of them, and even then the day was so scuzzy that they aren't that good.

So is the P-51 really hauling ass or is the A-10 flying on the edge of a stall?

A PT-26

A bunch of nice T-6s. I think we had at least half a dozen at the show this year.

The TBM

Just one of many similar sites in our mudhole parking lots. The result of too much horsepower and not enough driver.
